Varying shades of deep aqua blue, offset by pale chartreuse, deep burgundy, and flashes of orange give this abstract painting a rich vibrant quality. One of a small group of paintings I made after a week away between lockdowns, precious time spent with friends walking the coast path in Pembrokeshire. They spring from a feeling of freedom, gratitude, and joy of being in that spectacular landscape, having been confined at home for months during the pandemic.
